Voiceware Participated in the Korea’s Telematics Consortium
June 28, 2001 - Voiceware, the Korean speech technology leader, announces today that it participated in the Korean Telematics consortium. Nextech, auto maintenance and information service provider has taken the lead to create the Consortium. Nextech develops an auto PC and build an information center for Korea’s before/after Telematics services. The total of 15 companies are auto-pc developers, telecommunication and mobile information service providers including, Korea Telecom Freetel(KTF), Korea Telecom Hitel, Telson, and finally Voiceware Co.,Ltd. Korea’s speech technology leader. Before taking lead the Consortium, Nextech had allied with Microsoft for the Telematics services in Korea.
The consortium plans to construct the infrastructure for the information center to embody a car as a multi mobile office and operate the information center, ‘Proudi’, Nextech’s service name, is planning to provide information such as news, stock, traffic and reservation to drivers in the near future.
Voiceware will provide speech technology which is the core in such Telematics.
